How safe is the application
of Permanent Cosmetics?
According to the Center for Disease Control, permanent make-up is
very safe. When permanent make-up is done under the proper conditions,
there are no opportunities for disease transmission. If the technician
maintains a sanitary environment, the chances of developing any
type of communicable disease is almost impossible. The biggest health
concerns revolve around the use of the needles. The Nouveau Clinic
uses only prepackaged, pre-sterilized, disposable needles and tubes.
All tattoo instruments and surfaces are sterilized according to
approved industry sterilizing procedures.
Are Permanent Cosmetics
really permanent?
Permanent make-up is a cosmetic tattoo process that will fade, just
as a tattoo does, over a period of time. Every person is different
with how well pigment holds in their skin. Additionally exposure
to sun and tanning beds, exfoliation treatments, medical conditions
or poor skin maintenance can significantly shorten the life of the
color. Most people choose to have their permanent make-up color
boosted within one to five years of the original procedure. Some
can go longer before a color boost.
Are the procedures painful?
Everyone has a different tolerance level for discomfort and sensitivity.
Some people experience minor discomfort during the procedures, best
described as "irritation" or a slight stinging. The Nouveau
Clinic uses a combination of state-of-the-art topicals to numb the
treatment areas before, during and after each procedure. These work
so effectively many clients actually fall asleep during their procedures.
What does the Nouveau Clinic
do to insure sanitation between each client?
The Nouveau Clinic's Safety Protocol:
- Pre-sterilized disposable
needles and tubes
- New pigment cup holders
between clients
- New gloves between clients
and throughout procedures(s)
- Barrier film or spray on
communicable surfaces
- Hospital grade disinfectant
wipes for tables, lamps pigment bottles and instruments
- New covers for tables and
pillows
- Medical sterilization procedures
for all instruments
- New wipes, gauze, cotton
and swabs
- New trash can liners
- Disposable needle containment
system
Will Permanent Cosmetics
change or look bad as I age?
Permanent make-up will fade out over time, so your make-up ages
gracefully. Loss of muscle tone or elasticity in the skin does not
interfere with color retention or pigment placement.
What if I'm planning to
have plastic surgery?
Permanent cosmetics are not affected adversely by today's incredible
surgery procedures for partial or full facelifts. You can have your
permanent make-up done prior to surgery and enjoy the benefits of
not having to struggle with make-up during the healing process.
Or, you can have your make-up done after your surgery as soon as
your surgeon feels it is suitable and safe. You will want to make
your technician aware of any procedures you are considering so they
can address any concerns.
Can Permanent Cosmetics
be removed or altered?
Yes. You can opt to have your permanent make-up "camouflaged"
by your technician, although this is a temporary fix - or you can
have your permanent make-up completely removed with a laser or by
our REJUVI non-laser tattoo removal system. Another alternative
is to allow the permanent make-up to simply fade away on its own
over time.
